Junior High Students Prepare For Their Future With New Elective Classes ✈️
  • JUNIOR HIGH

Last year, junior high principal Amy Thomas asked her elective teachers to develop ideas for classes that would be of interest to students. The teachers went to work to capitalize on things that kids could try out and see if anything piqued their interest. Some of the new offerings include fiber arts, film as lit, and flight and space.

Our School Police Officers Go Above and Beyond 👏!

The Nixa Schools Police Department was established in November 2022 and thrives on developing relationships within our school community. Whether they are walking the halls, working with our school counselors, or simply striking up a conversation with a young student, our officers take pride in being trusted adults whom kids can turn to. Thank you for all your hard work. We appreciate you!

Students Build Mini Golf Courses to Demonstrate Force and Motion ⛳️
  • JTSD

The 3rd grade team at JTSD was ready to repeat their usual lesson on force and motion, but decided to freshen things up by having the students work in small groups, where they could design and build a miniature golf course. The teachers began the experience by taking the students to Getaway Golf in Springfield, where they observed the layout and design of each hole so they could recall it as they returned to school to create their own holes.
