  • NIXA HIGH

Nearly 90 students, from more than 10 schools, came to Nixa for an all-day event to learn from Nixa students how to become better broadcasters. Students learned camera work, announcing, directing, and how to apply those skills in college and beyond. Jordan Burns, who oversees the Nixa Live program, wanted to show each school that no matter how small they are and how limited their budget is, they can develop a program similar to his.

  • CENTURY

Fourth-grade students at Century Elementary had the chance to experience what life was like back in the Colonial Days. They played traditional 1700's games, dressed in period clothing, and practiced writing with quills. The immersive lesson helped students better understand how daily life has changed over time.

Students at Mathews Elementary had a fun day before spring break with their annual Glow Run. Physical Education teacher Brooke Poivre and her team of volunteers worked together to make this year's theme, "Under the Sea," a great success. The event is the culmination of the school's fundraising efforts throughout the month of March.
