This has been a great start to our third grade year at Century Elementary! We were able to jump right into our 3rd grade learning objectives! The students began learning about arrays, factors and beginning mulitiplication. This month we also had a unique opportunity to observe the August 21, 2017 Great Solar Eclipse! Our whole school participated in this unique learning event. Our principal purchased the approved and certified viewing glasses for each student in our building to wear for the observation of the eclipse. We also pulled in our unit on the sun and moon to go along with the special event. We have been reading our first BIG chapter book on kindness called WONDER. I hope that your child has been coming home and sharing what we are discussing as we are learning each day. In the few days that we have had together in August, I feel like we have learned quite a lot already. Looking forward to September!
