Earth science is a class that collectively seeks to understand the Earth and its neighbors in space. The main purpose of Earth Science is to introduce students to the Earth and the intricate workings of our Earth’s systems. Weather, oceanography, volcanoes, earthquakes, rocks and minerals, environmental issues, and astronomy are all covered as part of this class. Major lab write-ups and research reports are frequently required. May be taken for college credit through MSU. Sophomores must also be enrolled in Honors Biology or Biology I and meet additional requirements for dual credit. Students taking Earth Science may not take Global Science or Environmental Science.  (This class is not typically accepted as a science major credit for college but is accepted as an elective.)
