• ESL Department Awarded Nixa Community Foundation Grant

    The Nixa Public Schools English as a Second Language (ESL) department was awarded the Nixa Community Foundation grant for almost $3700 to support the dual language learners in our preschool program! The grant provided over 200 books in 20 different languages, puppets of different ethnic groups, and dress-up clothes representing different cultural traditions.
     
    Allison Tilley, ESL teacher, said, "two teachers have already told me they had students comment on how cool it was to have a doll or puppet that looked like them."
