Anime Club

Description: To build a society of students whose focus reaches beyond their community. The purpose of this club is to expose students to outside cultures and create a safe environment where they can explore their interests in supportive ways.

ASL Club

Description: To introduce the language for the deaf and hard of hearing through American sign language. Club members will be taught the alphabet, basic signs and phrases, practice, worksheets, games and songs.

Description: Fosters one-to-one friendships between middle school students with and without IDD (Intellectual Developmental Disability), in which they share interests, experiences, & activities.

Card Club

Description: This is a club where students can learn to play trading card games such as Magic the Gathering, Yugioh, Pokemon, etc. Students will be able to use critical thinking skills, creativity, and strategy when engaging in these games to have fun and spend time with their peers.

Drama Club

Description: Drama club is a chance for any Nixa JH students to participate in drama functions and activities. In drama club students will work on skills for acting, and other aspects of producing a play. Drama club members will have some opportunity to perform and participate in some drama related activities such as festivals and speech tournaments. Members of the drama club can earn membership into the National Junior Thespians Society.

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)

Description: This is a chapter of the state and national FCCLA organization. At NJHS, we focus on community service within the Nixa/Christian County Area. There is also a $15 fee for joining FCCLA which covers club dues and purchases your student a FCCLA T-shirt.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Description: This is a student-lead club that encourages athletes/non athletes of faith to come together. It will be a relaxed atmosphere for devotions and prayer.

Description: A student-led club where we can develop skills, like leadership, integrity, character, teamwork, time management, event planning, organization, social skills, and public speaking through Christian principles. Our goal is to be leaders who make a positive impact in our school and invite others to do the same. Everyone will be welcome to attend, and there is no fee. We also want to partner with other clubs and projects that make a positive difference in our school.

Horticulture Club

Description: Students will have the opportunity to work in the greenhouses and raised beds at Nixa Junior High. We will learn gardening skills that will hopefully give students the ability to help create their own gardens in the future.

Description: Promotes physical fitness, discipline, citizenry, and leadership among Nixa Junior High School students. Inspires interest in the JROTC program at Nixa High School by allowing students to experience the many teams that JROTC competes in, such as Armed and Unarmed Drill, Raider, Rifle Marksmanship, Color Guard, Robotics, and Archery.
