Katie Bearden
My name is Katie Bearden and I am a school counselor at Century Elementary. I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the Nixa School District and it is a great privilege to be a part of your child’s life during the vital elementary school years. While this is my first year at Century, it is my fifth year as a school counselor and it is a joy to serve the community in this capacity!
I am an Evangel University graduate (2009) and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in School Counseling. I have experience serving children and families in the state of Missouri for over 13 years. My husband and I reside in Nixa with our three children and enjoy spending our time catching as many Nixa Eagle athletic events as we can. Go Eagles!
The school counseling team works diligently to assist children in their developmental journey into becoming the best version of themselves while at school. We provide whole class lessons, small groups, and meet individually with students to address social and emotional needs. It is my desire that every student at Century Elementary knows they are loved, valued and that they learn to walk confidently in who they are made to be.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have about the counseling program or if your family or child needs assistance in any way.

Phil Steuer
Hello Century families!
My name is Phil Steuer and I am a new school counselor for the 2022-2023 school year. I am delighted to join the Century family this year after working as a mental health therapist in Nixa schools since 2020.
As a school counselor, I help students develop positive character, become independent problem solvers, and learn tools and skills that they can use to get through obstacles both big and small. Together with Mrs. Bearden, I will meet with students individually, in small groups, and as an entire class to best meet their needs and offer support.
Please reach out if you have questions or concerns about your student, or if your family is seeking assistance of any kind!
Mr. Phil Steuer, MS, PLPC
