The mission of the Nixa School Police Services is to provide and maintain a safe and secure environment for the schools we serve by building positive relationships between the school, students, families, and the law enforcement community.

Captain Jason Hartsell - Faught, ELC, and ECC
Chief Hartsell, Director of School Police, has been a Police Officer for 25 years. During Hartsell’s 25 years, he served 14 of those at the Nixa Police Department, 11 of those as a Detective and SWAT team leader. He has experience in tactical leadership, criminal investigations, and Law Enforcement Instruction. Hartsell has been with the Nixa School Police for 7 years. Chief Hartsell enjoys family, baseball, roasting coffee, and exercise.
Captain Hartsell is assigned to the Faught, Early Learning Center, and the Early Childhood Center.

Lieutenant Sean Vorse - Nixa Junior High School
Lieutenant Vorse has 25 years of law enforcement experience with the last 5 years with the Nixa School Police. Vorse has experience in command leadership, criminal investigations, cybercrimes, and crisis intervention training. Lieutenant Vorse enjoys spending time with his family, knife making, shooting, hunting, and fishing.
Deputy Vorse is assigned to Nixa Junior High School.

Sergeant Corey Sigman - Inman and SCORE
Sergeant Sigman has 18 years of law enforcement experience, serving the last 6 years as a Nixa School Police Officer. Sigman is a firearm instructor, field training officer, and he assists the department in instructing active shooter courses for Nixa Schools Staff. Sergeant Sigman enjoys spending time with his family, shooting, hunting, and fishing.
Sergeant Sigman is assigned to Inman Intermediate and SCORE.

Officer Eric Boxberger – Nixa High School
Officer Boxberger has 25 years of law enforcement experience with the last four years serving the Nixa Schools. Officer Boxberger worked with the Springfield School Police Department for 21 years. Boxberger has served in the United States Marine Corps and currently serves in the Air Force Reserves. Officer Boxberger has numerous certifications, including ALICE Active Shooter Instructor, Instructor Development, Sport Event Risk Management, and Command Leadership.

Officer Joe Daugherty - Summit and High Pointe
Officer Joe Daugherty has 12 years of experience in law enforcement, including 11 years at the Nixa Police Department. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology from Drury University. He was also a member of the Nixa Top Ten Under 40 in 2020, and the 2019 Crisis Intervention Team Officer of the year. Prior to working in law enforcement, Officer Daugherty served as a United States Marine, and deployed to Iraq twice with 3rd Battalion 7th Marines Regiment.
Officer Joe Daugherty is assigned to Summit and High Pointe.

Officer Chris Reese - Mathews and Espy
Officer Reese has 17 years of law enforcement experience. Fourteen years of his career were spent as a police officer for the Nixa Police Department. He has been a Nixa School Police Officer for 3 years. Officer Reese is an alumni of Nixa High School graduating in 1988. He is a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training Officer, and was a S.W.A.T. operator for six and a half years. He enjoys spending time with my family.

Officer Steven Wilbur - Century, JTSD, and XLT
Officer Wilbur has been in law enforcement since 2008, serving in various roles, including a correctional officer, Department of Public Safety at College of the Ozarks, Reserve Police Officer, and Christian County Bailiff. Officer Wilbur Graduated from Drury University’s Law Enforcement Academy and has received additional certifications in National Incident Management System and Crisis Intervention Training. Officer Wilbur enjoys spending time with his family, watching his children play sports, hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors-related. He is currently in his second year with Nixa Public Schools.
Officer Steven Wilbur, evening officer, is assigned to Century, JTSD, and XLT.
