XLT provides before and after school care in a structured group setting for students in grades K-6. The program operates with established routines, predictable schedules, and clear behavioral expectations that support children’s ability to function successfully within a larger peer group and multiple age ranges.

Program Structure and Environment

Students participate in supervised group activities in shared spaces with multiple aged peers present simultaneously. The program follows a consistent daily schedule that balances structured activities with free choice time. Students are expected to transition independently between activities, follow multi-step directions, and manage their belongings with minimal adult prompting. The environment includes typical classroom noise levels, movement, and social interactions common in group care settings. 

Goals and Objectives

XLT staff serve as facilitators of positive development through structured activities, games, spontaneous play opportunities, and adult/peer interactions. The program offers a balance of child-centered activities and enrichment programming combined with choices for free time and homework assistance. Students are expected to participate appropriately in group activities, share materials and space with peers, and demonstrate age-appropriate self-regulation skills. 

XLT is available Monday through Friday when school is in session. The hours of operation will be from 6:30am to the beginning of the school day and after school until 6:30pm. 

• XLT will be open on afternoons of scheduled half days of school. Students who are already enrolled in PM XLT can attend their normal schedule. Any additional students will need to contact the XLT office regarding afternoon care on these days

• AM Full-Time XLT is $220 a month 
• PM Full-Time XLT is $310 a month 
• AM and PM Full-Time XLT is $410 a month
• Monday Late Start XLT is $60 a month

XLT offers discounts for free or reduced lunch students, foster and adopt students, and sibling discounts. Please note that this discount only applies to AM Full-Time XLT, PM Full-Time XLT, AM and PM Full-Time XLT. This discount excludes XLT Monday Late Start, Camp Eagle, XLT Spring Break Camp, XLT In-Between Camp, XLT School Days Off, XLT Summer School, Eagle Care, and Camp SOAR.

• If your student receives Free Lunch, you will receive 50% off your tuition. 
• If your student receives Reduced Lunch, you will receive 25% off your tuition.

School Days Off (SDO)

XLT School Days Off is the program offered by XLT when Nixa Public Schools are not in session during the school year. It does not operate when the schools are closed due to weather (i.e. snow days) or for late start/early release days. SDOs are structured and function in a group setting for students in grades K-6. The program operates with established routines, predictable schedules, and clear behavioral expectations that support children’s ability to function successfully within a larger peer group and multiple age ranges.

XLT Summer School

XLT Summer School Hours of Operation and Locations:

• XLT Summer School is available Monday through Friday when summer school is in session. The hours of operation will be from 6:30am to the beginning of the school day and after school until 6:30pm.
• XLT Summer School is held at each elementary school and Summit Intermediate.

XLT Summer School tuition:

• AM Full-Time XLT is $220 for all 4 weeks
• PM Full-Time XLT is $310 for all 4 weeks
• AM and PM Full-Time XLT is $410 for all 4 weeks

Camp Eagle

Camp Eagle is XLT’s summer camp. Camp Eagle operates from the end of June to the Thursday before school starts in August. Nixa Public Schools are not in session during Camp Eagle. Camp Eagle can be closed or closed early due to severe weather (i.e. tornado warnings). Camp Eagle is structured and functions in a group setting for students in grades K-6. The program operates with established routines, predictable schedules, and clear behavioral expectations that support children’s ability to function successfully within a larger peer group and multiple age ranges.

Camp Eagle Hours of Operation and Locations

• Camp Eagle is opened from 6:30am to 6:30pm
• Camp Eagle will operate out of High Pointe Elementary and/or Summit Intermediate School

Camp Eagle Tuition:

• Camp Eagle is $200.00 per week

XLT and Eagle Care Inclement Weather Policy

XLT

• If there is No School, XLT will NOT BE IN SESSION. 

• If there is a Two-Hour Late Start, XLT will NOT BE OPEN FOR THE AM SESSION. Per the District Policy, “In an attempt to provide a service to those who wish to drop off their child(ren) at school on their way to work in the morning of a late-start day, the building principal will have someone near the front door to welcome your child(ren) to school beginning at 8:30 a.m. (grades K-4).”

• If there is an Early Release, XLT will NOT BE OPEN FOR THE PM SESSION.

Eagle Care

• If there is No School, Eagle Care will NOT BE IN SESSION.

• If there is a Two-Hour Late Start, Eagle Care will be OPEN AT 8:30 AM.

• If there is an Early Release, you will need to make arrangements to pick up your child as soon as possible. Information will be made through all communication platforms.
