School Police Officers

Sergeant Sigman has 20 years of law enforcement experience, serving the last 8 years as a Nixa School Police Officer. Sigman is a firearm instructor, field training officer, and he assists the department in instructing active shooter courses for Nixa Schools Staff. Sergeant Sigman enjoys spending time with his family, shooting, hunting, and fishing.   

Sergeant Sigman is assigned to Inman Intermediate and SCORE.

Officer Wilbur has served in various law enforcement roles since 2008, spending the last four years as a School Police Officer (SPO) with the Nixa School District. He is a graduate of Drury University’s Law Enforcement Academy and holds certifications in the National Incident Management System, Crisis Intervention Training, and as a Taser Instructor. Now in his fourth year with Nixa Public Schools, Officer Wilbur remains committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching his children play sports, hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.

Officer Wilbur is currently assigned to Nixa High School.

Officer Joe Daugherty has 15 years of experience in law enforcement, including 11 years at the Nixa Police Department.  He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology from Drury University.  He was also a member of the Nixa Top Ten Under 40 in 2020, and the 2019 Crisis Intervention Team Officer of the year. Prior to working in law enforcement, Officer Daugherty served as a United States Marine, and deployed to Iraq twice with 3rd Battalion 7th Marines Regiment. 

Officer Daugherty is assigned to Summit and High Pointe.

Officer Kahmke has been in law enforcement since 1997 and worked for both the City of Springfield as well as the Springfield School Police Department as a School Resource Officer at Central High School. Officer Kahmke enjoys spending time with his family and running their family owned fireworks business for the past 30+ years. 

Officer Kahmke is assigned to Matthews Elementary and Espy Elementary.

Officer Michael Gunn is a Navy Military Police veteran with experience in law enforcement, nuclear asset protection, and maritime expeditionary operations, including port, harbor, and high-value asset protection. He enjoys mountain biking and traveling with his wife and kids.

Officer Gunn is assigned to Century Elementary and John Thomas School of Discovery.
