High School Announcements

Say Something

Say Something Week is an awareness campaign promoting the importance of students helping keep our school safe with three easy steps:

  1. Look for warning signs, signals, or threats
  2. Act immediately and take it seriously
  3. SAY SOMETHING to a trusted adult.

Students are the eyes and ears for our school. We need your help in keeping it safe. Feel free to join us in welcoming students every morning. We will meet in Mrs. Heman's room - 248 - at 7 a.m. We'd love to see you there!

Celebrations will be during lunch each day this week:

  • Monday: Name board in Commons and incredible kid notes for friends
  • Tuesday: Green Ribbon Day
  • Wednesday: No Stress Day
  • Thursday: Trusted Adult Day
  • Friday: Wear GREEN and take a photograph during lunch.

  • All four pages should be completed including physician's information, signatures, insurance and emergency information.

Cox Medical Explorers

Cox Medical Explorers is accepting applications for the Summer 2019 session. The deadline to submit an application is March 29th. The applications are in the counseling center.

If you plan to attend Ozarks Technical Community College this summer or fall, Mrs. Reppond will be taking a group of Nixa students to campus to participate in the required orientation meeting (OTC STAR meeting) and to register for summer and/or fall classes! The date and time are below:

OTC STAR trip: Friday, April 26th

Time: Leave high school at 8:30 a.m.; Return to high school at 12:30 (lunch will be provided there)

Normally, students must schedule a time on their own to attend one of these meetings, but we will be able to take a group of 40 (first come, first served) students to the Richwood Valley campus to do this during the school day. It does not matter what OTC campus you plan to attend....you can still participate in this meeting!

IF you are interested, here is what you need to do:
1: Apply to OTC and be accepted
2: Complete a permission slip on SCHOOLPAY (The title of the permission slip is: "Senior OTC Trip for STAR and Registration for Summer/Fall 2019")

**Once you are accepted to OTC and I have your permission slip, OTC will enroll you in the STAR meeting, so there is nothing you have to do for that. If you have questions, please let me know!
***Be working on your FAFSA if you have not yet completed that!***
